What GPU Points are
GPU Points are GPU Network's contribution score. Every completed inference task earns the wallet that served it a model-weighted amount of points. There is no token, no contract address, and nothing to buy — points are earned only by doing useful work (serving inference) or using the API.
Two balances per wallet
- Pending points — spendable balance. Convert to API credits at
1 pt = 10 creditsany time; converting resets the pending counter. - Lifetime points — your Season 0 score. Never decreases, feeds the leaderboard, and is the record any future reward program would read from.
How points accrue
- Serving a task:
reward_weight(model)points per completed task (0.6–1.8 by model size) - Using the API: 1 point per 10 completed requests on your key
- Echo-mode (fake) nodes accrue nothing — anti-sybil filter
Season 0
The current season is Season 0. It has no end date yet; when a season closes, lifetime scores are snapshotted before the next one starts. Your rank is public on the /app leaderboard and via GET /v1/leaderboard.
Future rewards — honest disclosure
Season points may qualify for future reward programs (for example a retroactive distribution if the network ever launches a token or revenue share). That is an option, not a promise: points are not a financial instrument, have no guaranteed monetary value, and cannot be bought or sold.
What is NOT in scope (yet)
- A token — none exists today; all on-chain settlement flows in the codebase stay disabled until a contract address is ever configured
- Cash payouts (a USDG payout path is architecturally ready, gated off)
- Buying points — impossible by design; contribution is the only way in
